Fred Edwards was a hand engraver and worked most of his working life – apart from a stint at being a baker with Harringtons – at the well known and prestigious firm of Eversheds in St Albans. Fred loved his work and describes the craft of hand engraving prior to printing, a process which is now dying out because of technology. Eversheds closed and has now been demolished.
