Bet Cutler, born in 1923, remembers that her father, Edward Butcher, had a flat in Sportsman’s Hall which is on the corner of Prospect Road and Cottonmill Lane. She remembers one of her friends who used to live in the original Sportsman’s Hall which were two little cottages. These were demolished to build the flats. Further down Cottonmill Lane were the kennels and stables. She can remember that the hunt went there and that the people who ran the stables were called Duncan.
