Wartime – Mary Myers

mary myers croppedMary, who lived in New House Park during the war, shares her wartime stories: her father in the Home Guard, air raids, the Electrical Apparatus Company (EAC) which made munitions during the war, escaped sheep on the golf course, planes and bombs and damage to houses.

    Hi ,my mother Dora Sydney Herridge was in Watford during the war 11 and she said she worked at an electrical firm making Arc welding plants and munitions at PETBOWS she remembers the V1 attack on Sandringham st as she used to walk past it to go to work ,She lived down Water lane /street with her grand father ,THOMAS HAMLING who worked for Benskin brewers in Watford as a horseman/drayman ,, After the war Mum moved back to Gomshall do you have any info as to where she worked and any info on Great Grandad ,any info would be appreciated ,Malcolm
